Hi tobias and all,
What is our goal for xorg ? to switch to modular xorg .. ??
Well the developers of X only provide modular X in the future. The
question was when to do that step. I apologize for doing that step out
of the blue. Tough it was actually overdue.
if so i guess it is best to remove old xorg out of the equation .. to
prevent problems
with moving to modular xorg .. altogether .. as we are already modular ..
when it is done ..
Exactly, when it's done. I hope to be finished by the end of next
week. Any help appreciated. Just stop by in IRC and I will answer any
questions.
just an idea ... i understand old school xorg resides in /usr/X11R6 but
modular xorg has a new location .. at least i read this somewhere on xorg
site
i believe .. so different location for new xorg .. all the apps need to know
this too off course .. i suppose .. i am not sure which is default location
for new xorg .. on most linux distros by the way .. i wonder .. ?
for now best regards .. and ...
Well X has been in /usr/X11R6 in Yoper before. I don't know where
other distros put it. Since I maintain most of the packages I decided
to put it straight into /usr. No need to complicate things. There's
nothing to gain to move it away from there.
Any more input and ... help welcome.
cheers
