The wiki authentication is something which Reid deals with - so hopefully he can look at that. There are a number of rules built in to the wiki to prevent the common spamming attacks - advertising spams etc - which Reid incorporated a while ago. Currently, I have not noticed any attacks on the wiki - apart from one a few weeks ago - I check it several times a day to ensure it is clear anyway. But yep, the logged in users only is a sensible idea - not only to prevent spammers, but also so we can see who makes an entry - it may be for example that someone needs to contect the person who makes an entry for some reason - and if they were not logged in, it isn't as easy to find out who it was.
