I somehow doubt the Linux community will be as excited as Kevin seems to be.
Getting CnR to work with other distros may be a very impressive move, but
Linspire are not held in high regard by some of those distros - e.g the
Debian users or Ubuntu people. Not that the distro is bad, but the commercial
overtones offend many in the community.
To be honest, Debian based distros probably have a lot more packages - freely
available - than the CnR warehouse does. The only "possible" advantage is
that CnR does have a number of "commercial" apps - such as Cross Over stuff
and Cedega - but those are of course downloadable from the relevant websites
anyway.
As someone who uses Debian and Kubuntu on systems regularly, I honestly
believe Linspire will not find those users getting excited by the chance to
use CnR - I certainly will not be trying it out as I can do everything I
desire on my system as it stands, with Debian, Kubuntu or Yoper.
Good luck to them - it is a different approach and I wish them well with it,
but I feel the move will result in little or no great uptake and will
probably upset the FSF zealots as well as some of the more moderate open
source people.
Just my own view of course and, as mentioned, I wish them success with it.

Mark
