Hi, A collegue of mine bought a new shiny hp pavilion . It comes with an intel sata controller :) .
So that gave some incentive and hands on experience . You can get your hdds being recognized by adding the following options to the boot commandline to the failsafe mode option noapic noacpi acpi=off atapi_enabled=1 I will have a look into it today and tomorrow and will come up with an ISO soon.
