vocampo,

Musikolo has just posted a new topic entitled "How to upgrade from Yoper 3.0 to
Yoper 3.1" in forum "Documentation".

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi,

if you have Yoper 3.0 and would like to upgrade to Yoper 3.1, then you are in
the right place! The next steps will try to guide you through the process.

Step 1: Find out our current configuration:

------------ CODE SAMPLE ----------
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~ $ smart channel --show
[rpm-sys]
type = rpm-sys
name = RPM System

[yoper-3.0]
type = apt-rpm
name = Yoper 3.0 Official Packages
baseurl = ftp://ftp.yoper.com/pub/yoper/yoper-3.0
components = rocketfuel
-----------------------------------

The above is the minimum configuration you should have. As you can see, the
'baseurl' ends with 'yoper-3.0' and the 'components' tag points out at least to
'rocketfuel', our stable repository.

Step2: Add the new repos. Run as root:

------------ CODE SAMPLE ----------
[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~ # smart channel --add yoper-3.1 type=apt-rpm name="Yoper
3.1 Official Packages" baseurl=ftp://ftp.yoper.com/pub/yoper/3.1
components=rocketfuel -y

[EMAIL PROTECTED] ~ #smart channel --show

[rpm-sys]
type = rpm-sys
name = RPM System

[yoper-3.0]
type = apt-rpm
name = Yoper 3.0 Official Packages
baseurl = ftp://ftp.yoper.com/pub/yoper/yoper-3.0
components = rocketfuel

[yoper-3.1]
type = apt-rpm
name = Yoper 3.1 Official Packages
baseurl = ftp://ftp.yoper.com/pub/yoper/3.1
components = rocketfuel
-----------------------------------

Step 3: Disable the old yoper-3.0 repository:

------------ CODE SAMPLE ----------
smart channel --disable yoper-3.0
-----------------------------------

Step 4: Upgrade only the RPM system dependent packages:

------------ CODE SAMPLE ----------
smart update
smart install rpm smart
-----------------------------------

Step 5: Upgrade the reminder. It is a good idea to go to console mode before to
do this (press Ctrl+Alt+Backspace ot type '/etc/init.d/kdmctrl stop' ):

------------ CODE SAMPLE ----------
smart upgrade -y
-----------------------------------

Step 6: Reboot the system. Just issue either 'init 6' or 'reboot' commands.

I hope the process work as expected.

Regards! :)
