This has just become rather more complicated :(
Clearing out all references to fltk, then compiling V1.3.8 from scratch
revealed the same problem, so it's not debian that's the cause but definitely
some change in fltk.

It would seem that as partGroup is not a *genuine* group within the master
window all the internal bits lose sync (we actually force the resize of the
group itself).

However, I think I've found a permanent solution to this.

In a side branch I copied just the part volume control into an empty group that
*is* in master, and that retains it's size and position perfectly, so diverting
the associated controls and removing the one in the part group gives exactly the
behaviour we want.

There are 26 associated controls and buttons so that's another 25 to go {sigh}

This could take a little while, so don't hold your breath.

The 'builders' have left the files in a bit of a mess at the moment :P
