It would seem this can be readily handled entirely using the normal
collectRead/Write commands.
Wouldn't that be wasteful and cause a lot of tiny data exchanges?
It seems to me that it would be much more desirable to push the complete
array of points in one shot into the GUI. As a bonus, this would also help
us to disentangle GUI and synth code and make it clearer what's going on.
