Sometimes if I start Yoshimi with it being configured for Jack audio but with
jack NOT running it will drop out completely when it should run but with no
audio. This seems to be when my computer has decided that my external sound card
is the default one instead of the internal sound module.

When this happens the .config/yoshimi/yoshimi.banks file gets truncated to just
the following:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE Yoshimi-data>
<Yoshimi-data Yoshimi-major="2" Yoshimi-minor="3" Yoshimi-revision="4"
Yoshimi-author="Alan Ernest Calvert"> <INFORMATION>
<string name="XMLtype">Roots and Banks</string>
<par name="Banks_Version" value="11" />
</INFORMATION>
<BANKLIST />
</Yoshimi-data>

Even when making a clean restart, to enable the banks to be found again this
file has first to be deleted.

This problem with the banks file also seems to occur if some other bug (such as
while developing new code) causes Yoshimi to crash during start-up.

Is this perhaps due to other services starting but failing after the banks file
has been opened but before it is populated?
