Peter, This has been my #2 issue with Entourage for a long time. My pet peeve is the small - hard to see Subject line. I reported this to the Microsoft team and it fell on deaf ears. The designers probably have <40 year old eyes and do not understand the problem.
The only workaround I have found is the OSX tip to hold down the control key and zoom with the mouse scroll button. I hope someone has found a better workaroung. I suggest you send feedback to Microsoft. Maybe they will listen to you.
