Shortly after updating to Mac OS X 10.5.7 I received the dreaded Entourage note that I needed to quit and restart and may have to verify and rebuild the database.
The problem seemed to be centered around one message in my Outbox that had received extensive editing and included a number of pictures and attachment. I cleared he error message by saving the message to desktop and deleting it from the Outbox. Just to be save I used the Entourage Database Utility to verify my database. I shared this with Diane and she responded with the following good tip On Saturday5/16/09 4:00 PM, "Diane Ross" <[email protected]> wrote: > On 5/16/09 4:49 AM, "Richard Kriss" <[email protected]> wrote: > > This is my stress test. Since then I have completed step #2 by rebuilding the database and once I sure it was okay I made a backup by right-clicking and selecting the Compress option and this created a Database.zip file that I keep for an emergency. I also made backup of my contacts. I passed on the using Jolly Roger's script as I do not use multiple folders and I do maintain SuperDuper and Time Machine backup.... if really needed. Diane's 4-Step test is good advice for any that may suspect a problem Dick YouTalk mailing list List address: [email protected] List information: http://entourage.mvps.org/support_options/list.html List moderator: [email protected]
