Just got this email regarding release of the Web Services version of Entourage. For those of us using an Exchange server, this is a H U G E update. Integration is much tighter, and Entourage really does begin to show Outlook-like features (directory services work, calendars are visible in scheduling, handshaking is done properly). Well done Mac BU!

As a beta user, I have to do the following to get off the beta and onto the real version: In order to install the final release, you will need to completely remove your beta build of Office 2008/Entourage, Web Services Edition, and reinstall your licensed version of Office 2008 for Mac. You’ll then need to update to SP2 and the 12.2.1 release that just recently came out. Once you are fully up-to-date, you can [install] the Entourage 2008, Web Services Edition. What do they mean by “completely remove your beta build of Office 2008/Entourage, Web Services Edition.” Is that as simple as going in and trashing my copy of Entourage? I saved the old version as a back up, can I then just rename that Entourage and try the new install?
