(Posting for Tom) I installed Entourage 2008 WSE last week and it seems to run fine but slowly. My overall internet connection slows dramatically when Entourage WSE is open.
I am running a 3.06 GHz MBP with 8 GB RAM, OSX 10.5.8 and Entourage Version 13.0.0 (090609) connected to a web hosted Exchange Server 2007 with all updates. I have DSL 6.0 megabits/sec internet connection that regularly hits 5.7 or 5.8 megabits/sec when WSE is not running but much slower when WSE is running. My browsers (either Camino or Safari) load much slower when WSE is running. Under Activity Monitor, Under Network, the Data Sent is consistently 60+ KB/sec. It seems that WSE recreated an identity so I guess it had to download all old e-mails and attachments, correct? I had a ~9 GB identity so shouldn't it be through by now? Has this slowness issue been reported before? Any suggestions? (I hope I don't have to create a new identity because that takes hours to download all mail).
