Time Machine saves the hourly backups for the past 24 hours, daily backups
for the past month, and weekly backups for everything older than a month.

When I enter Time Machine I see Now and Today with the time of backup. After
24 hours Time Machine has one entry per day. Does Time Machine take the
latest hourly backup for the daily backup? If so, does it take more bytes
after 24 hours to back up the database then just doing a database backup
once a day.
