Hi Jonathan!

Having participated before in a Mac Office beta, I can tell you that
testers were not allowed to reveal anything about the product. The only
information they can provide and that we can provide here will be only
what Microsoft has made public. I agree that this is frustrating, but
that's just how Microsoft likes to roll.

I would like to address one of your earlier comments about why you wanted
to participate, which was to "get a sneak peak and be able to contribute
suggestions/features". I learned the following from an MVP Lead at
Microsoft during the past beta I mentioned:

When a beta of this size is released, the feature set is finalized. It
will have been finalized several months to more than a year before.
Developers are not looking for public comment about what should and should
not be in the product. They're looking for testers to use the product and
find bugs that need fixing. Most of our suggestions/features back then
were addressed with something like, "We'll consider it for the next
release."

Surprisingly, the best time to offer feature suggestions is a few months
after the product is released. This is when MacBU will be reviewing ideas
and features for the *next* version. I would say that early next Spring
will be the optimal time to start submitting feature requests.
