[I may have accidentally sent an earlier version of this message before I
was finished editing it.]

About two months ago, I posted the query quoted below. I am posting the
solution, so it will be present in the archives of the list. This info may
be useful for Entourage users who connect to a Cyrus IMAP server.

Some IMAP clients (including Entourage and Apple Mail) do not work correctly
with the default port configuration for the Cyrus IMAP server. This is
really odd, since Cyrus is included with Mac OS X Server.

If Entourage is set to use the default port 993 for IMAP via SSL, it is not
compatible with the folder namespace conventions of Cyrus. Fortunately,
Cyrus provides an alternate port (992) which allows clients to see a
remapped folder namespace. This page explains more, and shows the settings
changes that must be made:

utlook-ol-express-apple-mail-and-bis-users/>

Here is another page, nominally about Apple Mail, but containing additional
info and suggestions which might be applicable to Entourage:

-imap-port/>

There were some other problems caused by the namespace mismatch. If I
started up Entourage while offline, it would only display my INBOX folder.
I could not see or access anything within my Drafts, Sent Items, Trash, or
Junk folders.

After changing to the alternate settings described in the first link above,
everything seems to be working normally. All folders are visible all the
time, I can acccess downloaded messages while offline, and I can arrange
browser columns in the usual way (although I still think that the Entourage
UI for managing the column settings is FUBAR).

Just for convenience of anyone thinking of trying FastMail, here again is
the page containing the rest of the settings for Entourage. These settings
must be modified according to the recommendations above.

This page specifies the wrong IMAP port, and shows the Entourage folder
layout when configured to use that port. The folder layout is flat
(everything at the same level) when the correct port is used. FastMail
should really update their pages to be consistent, and I told them so.
