Microsoft today started a 4-month Technology Guarantee promotion <http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products/Office2008/office-2011-upgrade.mspx> for new customers of its Office for Mac 2008 product lines. Anyone buying eligible versions of Office 2008 between August 1 and November 30 will be eligible to receive Office for Mac 2011 when it ships later this year.
Differences between the 2008 and 2011 products are significant: * Office 2011 Home & Student will not include any mail client (Outlook is not included) * Office 2011 Home & Student ships as a "Family Pack" * Office 2011 Home & Business ships as a "2 Pack" Consumers must purchase the correct Office 2008 product to be eligible for the Office 2011 product they wish to receive.
