I realize beta testers cannot discuss the new Mac Office Outlook software and I do not expect a reply to this posting. If you are a tester, please check the following for the rest of us:
I am guessing the new Outlook will come with some conversion utility for Entourage 2008 users to switch over to Outlook. Does it import the Entourage addresses correct? Please check that Microsoft dropped the auto CR after x-number of characters in plain text files. Hopefully, Outlook will at least give users the option to disable the automatic carriage return. This has been my #1 issue with Entourage and Microsoft ignored all user requests for a fix. Will Outlook import saved Entourage identities? I have my mail from prior years archive by year as separate identities. My archive mail is only a few mouse clicks away. Compatibility with the Time Machine. Can a corrupt mail file be replaced using the Time Machine Restore feature? Hopefully someone will test Outlook with the picky mail POP and SMTP servers at att.yahoo. com. ATT and Yahoo have refused to provide technical support to Entourage users. Can you POP and send mail via att.yahoo.com? Will the new Auto Updater maintain a log of installed updates. Microsoft dropped this feature from Entourage. Something like the Apple uses would be really nice.
