Two questions:
1. yum-verify, when run as user, reports far more issues than when run as
root. Which should I trust and why?
2. Are the reports below (from run as root) indications of a serious
problem?

Details:
1. When I ran yum-verify as root, it reported 47 problems, 8 files have
wrong checksums and wrong sizes, 3 files are missing, 2 groups, 10 mtimes,
and 16 modes do not match. When I ran it as user, it reported 1166 wrong
checksum and sizes, etc, and other errors, of which only 452 were
permission denied complaints.
2. The problems that were reported (when running as root) were:
