    * remove engine object, it is not used in the daemon

of the engine and the GUI (actually it should be the GUI which starts the 
daemon if not already running and not the other way around)
    * add "--help" and  "--version"
    * add some commandline switches to handle logging (set logging level, 
define log target)
    * last but not least: put everything into a function
