I think mhr3's suggestion about using two namespaces for a while is a
good solution.
If we keep our existing gnome namespace, but deprecate it, and at the
same time move to freedesktop for 0.7, we could remove the gnome
namespace in some later release.

Moving Zeitgeist dbus Bus name from gnome to Freedesktop
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/681887
You received this bug notification because you are a member of Zeitgeist
Framework Team, which is subscribed to Zeitgeist Framework.

Status in Zeitgeist Framework: New

Bug description:
Zeitgeist currently uses the org.gnome dbus domain. As we are no longer a
GNOME-specific project, I think it would make more sense to move the project to
the org.freedesktop domain, as org.freedesktop.Zeitgeist.engine or something
similar.
