When talking with people in person I'm often asked if I'm "psychic" or if I
have "ESP" or how I seem to "know" things. Most of the time this makes me want
to laugh! :-) And sometimes I do :-)
While I am a very intuitive person, and while I have had a very few times in my
53 years when I really did seem to know things without any "logical" way to
know, there is really nothing mystical or psychic or extra-sensory about it!
It's simply that I'm 100% present and paying attention during the conversation,
and I am not only hearing their words, but also the tone of their voice, I'm
seeing their facial expression, how they are standing or holding themselves. .
. I'm seeing/hearing/listening 100%. It's simply zen, as in the old zen
saying; "Be here now!" Yet they think I'm doing something "mystical" and
sometimes no amount of explaining otherwise will convince them.
"People who study zen should seek real, true perception and understanding for
now. If you attain this you needn't seek wonders, for wonders come of
themselves." Linji
Or to borrow from an old song from the 1960's- "There's nothing like the real
thing, baby!" ;-)
