Concerning celebs like John Lennon and many others, my impression was
that each and everyone of these followed their own brands of
spirituality based on one or more types, or paths. The BEATLE members
were obviously influenced by many things Indian, as many others were at
that time. Remember George Harrison's song MY SWEET LORD? Many years
later, George was eventually connected with others such as a Germanic
revivalist movement of sorts, and witchcraft(of sorts) Such sorts
eventually made their own interpretations and twists of sort without
necessarily being grounded in anything of traditional or historical
significance. Over the years, the only exception to this that I can
think of would probably be American actor Richard Gere....and even him I
wouldn't be entirely sure of 100% Mel Gibson, a Jew-hating
(supposedly) devout Catholic of some kind or another...Madonna, who now
prefers to be called Esther these days because of her mixed
Jewish/Kabbalistic beliefs...Tom Cruise and John Travolta, our poster
boy Scientologists...and the list goes on... in peace Mel

Mel,

It is the human condition that ALL humans and human groups (Jews,
Christians, Muslims, etc.) tend to have bonding to some people and some
groups, which they do not have with other people or other groups.
