Dear Mayka These movies appear to have a thread of involvement and realities that touch on the esoteric aspect of all traditions, which of course Gurjieff, or Sufis, or Zen pratitioners, Buddhists, Gnostics, etc would and could use as examples, in terms of teaching. In the case of American Beauty, there is a Fourth Way connection with those who made the movie, although not formally declared. You can see this in Ground Hog day with Bill Murray, Murray is, or was, a member of the Gurdjieff Foundation in New York.
You will find this amongst Sufis and Buddhists as well. The medium of course, can be used for teaching, very powerfully, I might add, or perhaps very poorly. I leave that up to experts, critics, etc . . . Just wanted to tug a few coats here with some slight information, that's all. Glad you are all doing well here.
