We did have some discussions on movies recently, and just the other night I
watched the new, slick Hollywood version starring George Cloony of the
award-winning Russian movie Ñîëÿðèñ - Solaris.
I like the movie a lot, and I was especially struck by the last couple
sentences of dialog in the movie which I think does have some relevance to some
of our current discussions.
The dialog was between Cloony's character and his wife. The circumstances are
very compicated but at this point Cloony doesn't know if what he is
experiencing is real, or a dream, or something else... He says to his wife, 'I
don't know if we are alive or dead.'
She replies, 'We don't have to think in those terms anymore.' [dualistic terms]
'Every thing we have ever done is now forgiven. Every thing.'
Anyway, I thought it was a nice ending and relevant to the forum...Bill!
