Good morning to all,

Buddha began with sitting, then he awakened, then his students documented, then it was handed down as precepts.

Too many in Asia, including Taiwan, as per Bill, practice the reverse direction -- holding the precepts as being sacred and did not sit first.

Therefore, as per Bill again, sitting will help us to realize some of the initial practices, such as elimination of the Five Poisons. This is Hinayana practice.

However, the Six Dimension For Thousand Acts requires getting wet in the secular world. That's the only way to broaden our wisdom and chi. Sitting helps not as much in this practice. This is the Mahayana practice. This is where karma and chi plays a significant role.

Precepts or practices are just words to communicate the states of our mind, body and spirit reflected through our actions. They are like sign posts on our journey and yardstick for self inquiry.

At the end of it all, how our heart feels is the only thing mattered, not "felt", not "will feel", but "feels".

The idea of it all, is letting our heart shining through, and maintaining its original wisdom, compassion and joy, so that we could act in tune with the characteristics of the universe. (The "ken" in Kenso means meet. "so" means the characteristics.)

Therefore Meditate First... :-)
