Hey there Bill! Thanks for that. The way things turned out, my panel number was
cancelled out, as they apparently had more than enough to choose from for the
moment. I don't know how many jurors they want for now, but they have to pick
a team out of the first 100(I'm no.129, and nearly 200 were sent notices by
normal mail). However, our justice dept. here said that I may get another date
for attendance in the future

Welcome REWRISK. Religious grounds? Me personally, I was only interested in
getting back to work. Jurors here DownUnder/Australia get paid (Australian)39$
per day for the first 5 days, and then (Australian)$75 per day from the 6th day
onwards. An acquaintance of mine did it for 3 weeks, and one big
(Islamic)terror-related trial we just had here last year lasted for 6 months.
Honestly, I am curious on what jury duty entails and being part of all that
legal/justice world and I would have willingly done it if I knew it wasn't
going to get my boss into a huge epileptic fit. Without meaning to
sound arrogant or perhaps lacking in enough humility, I think I would be
clear-headed enough to work my way through even a major trial with a team. I
refer to it as being 'clear headed', but I'm guessing that this may be
something the late (Shunryu) Suzuki-sensei was referring to in his book ZEN
MIND BEGINNERS MIND as the BigMind. I've never had him as a
 teacher, but that's my interpretation

in Buddha's grace

I object on religious grounds.
I could never know enough to be satisfied my judgement could not be wrong.
