It is remarkable to follow the nutty antics in Zen Forums. Postings read like notes from a nuthouse. And some of us know we are real nut cases and are just trying to break out of our nuttiness. Most nuts think that banging against each other is the way out of their shells.
Along comes Buddha who tells the nuts to stop rioting, sit still, relax, and observe themselves in their shells. In the very rare nut case that listens roots of understanding begin to grow deeply into the Buddha Dharma and the nutty mind grows still.
