JMJM,
A good video, and very encouraging! I think it's possible.
I liked what the professor said, "Students learn best when they are
actively practicing." That is true also for students of Chan. At
least as much as for students of Science. The study and practice
of Chan, anyway, is more like Lab classes, rather than lecture
classes. Five minutes of teaching give you something to practice
for YEARS. ;-)
Certainly instruction in Chan can be done this way. The posture(s)
can be taught, and exercises and self-massage can be taught in
order to make the posture more comfortable with time. Methods of
meditation can be taught, beginning perhaps with counting.
I have not investigated, but perhaps some teachers of Chan and Zen
are doing this now? (maybe not in just the way that the video shows).
But some teachers have lots of videos online, while they are being
interviewed by TV interviewers. My teacher Chan Master Sheng Yen,
for instance, has many such videos online, while he was interviewed
on various topics in Taiwan.
Thanks!
