Kris, I didn't say 'do zazen with the goal of, or for the purpose of alleviating suffering. I said if you want to alleviate suffering you must drop attachments. To drop attachments you must quit creating dualities (like self/other). And I suggested zazen was a way to do this - realizing Buddha Nature - stopping the creation of duality.
