Merle, I experienced Buddha Nature 40 years ago under the guidance of a Japanese Zen Master in the context of a formal student/teacher relationship. Part of the nature of the student/teacher relationship was that I did have to give 'proof' to my teacher by demonstrating Buddha Nature. His acceptance of me then was very important to me then. It is not important to me now. I continue to experience Buddha Nature to this day. As far as I'm concerned I don't need any 'proof' other than that experience.
If you're asking if I need 'proof' from you or anyone else that they've experienced Buddha Nature the answer is 'no'. I am not your teacher. I am just a fellow-participant on this public forum. If asked I'll offer my opinion. If I see a statement about zen or Buddha Nature that I think is misleading or harmful to any on this forum, including the author, who are either seeking to realize Buddha Nature for the first time or further integrate it into their daily lives I will speak out.
