Hi Merle,

It seems to be the basic problem of defensiveness of the true believer 
mentality when their most cherished Zen fantasies are questioned and they have 
to confront the fact that the bases of their belief systems may not be true.... 
Instead of simply learning the lesson their ego bristles and they react 
defensively.

It's difficult for even the greatest of Boddhisattvas to teach the simplest 
lessons to true believers.

Let them eat yam leaves!
