Bill!,
Quite an exercise!
The story gave me a huge wave of deja vu. I am reminded of the story from
China about the milk-maid and the herds-boy. Something went wrong for them,
too, and they can only meet once a year, and this is a big Summer festival time
in China. The herds-boy and milk-maid are the stars we know as Vega, and
Altair, near each other and prominent in our northern Summer sky, but on
opposite sides of the River. The river is the Milky Way.
I'll find out the date of the festival, and next time it rolls around again,
I'll celebrate with the couple, and a billion Chinese. I've been neglecting
this!
Xie-xie, Bill!(!)
