RAF, Communism will never catch on in USA (and never has done). The reason is Meetings. Every time a sewer-system upgrade is contemplated, there must be a Meeting, and we must attend. Whenever a road needs paving, there must be a meeting. If a school needs more teachers, there must be a meeting. If a school needs fewer teachers... a meeting. It's just NOT going to happen. This is why the Party could never get a foothold here, not even in my adopted NYC hometown, except among the neurotic, the psychotic, the unrealistically-idealistic, and those attracted by the prospect of Free Love. Forget about the fact that Party membership was illegal: that was an INCENTIVE to the aforementioned. The Greed-incentive is safe in USA! (paranoids don't yet see this). And the Almighty Dollar is in Its/Her/His Heaven, albeit deflated. Currency debasement is the last resort of failed (or stealthy) revenue-enhancers. It's a-happening. --Joe-the-debased-Upon PS And RAF I think you fail to display correct understanding of Communism. In Communism, there is no "confiscation". That is a propagandistic and intentionally destructive carry-over virus-of-a-notion from the perspective of the brain-washed robots of the sickly-icky Capitalist system. Be rid of it. In Communism, the State owns the means of Production, and the workers receive the proper portion of the fruits which the Planners (Dictator and Committee) can apportion, given the numerical outcome of production and the needs for further investment and development which must be retained by the State for continued betterment of Society. A win-win-win, with no losses. Ideally. > R A Fonda <rafonda@...> wrote: > > On 12/12/2012 5:31 PM, Chris Austin-Lane wrote: > > The system hasn't been overturned - you can't evaluate the > > Constitution as a system without looking at what happened, how it > > worked out. > > I am saying it started out a representative republic; it is now > socialism becoming a communist tyranny, so it is different.
