Joe and Merle,

I think 'near-death' experience is pretty much the norm for those not 
practicing zen.

When you begin to practice zen you are soon introduced to a 'near-life' 
experience.

The more you practice the more you peel away the 'near' until you finally do 
actually have a 'real-life' experience.

THAT's what I'm talking about...
