...when you no longer need, or can even USE, a "permanent".

Or, that head could as well be ...shaved.

(full head of hair here, BTW; usually considerable beard except in hottest 
heat, a Woodworker's beard, or Radio-Astronomer's beard; and still no tattoo or 
piercings (didn't serve in the USN, and haven't played much darts).
