Merle,

I have looked. There's no soul or essence to be found. I do
notice that everything is in flux (even matter is not solid). When I meditate I
note that there are fleeting thought-moments. They constantly arise and pass,
arise and pass, arise and pass flowing from one into another. Look around you.
All life/reality is transient and impermanent. Something comes into sight,
hearing, touch etc. and consciousness arises. Then there is a perception of it
(good or bad or neutral). Then a corresponding sensation and then I act. Where
is there a function for a soul? An essence? There is only ever this moment and
'you' are the junction where 'out there' and 'in here' meet. No soul required
(unless you believe in heaven and hell and then require such a thing as a soul
to migrate there).

Mike

Sent from Yahoo! Mail for iPhone
