Merle, Suffering for the suffering of all other beings in the world is illusory. It only ADDS more suffering to the world.
I know this lesson well as I was afflicted with the illusion of internalizing the suffering of others for the whole first half of my life... The better way is to NOT suffer in the face of suffering. This shows the world a better way by your example. And of course to give ACTUAL help to other beings in need around you....
