Merle,
Ow.
I'm sorry; call me a "little-fellow". What resonates with me is your
subject-line, or thread-title.
"Goulash" does it for me!
There was a restaurant -- Edgar must know it -- on Morningside Heights: "The
Green Tree". A Hungarian restaurant. Immediately across Amsterdam Avenue from
the world's largest cathedral (that of Saint John the Divine). Southwest
corner of Amsterdam and 111th Street. Well... WHAT good food, in good
quantity. And nice green trees in flower pots in their front window! In
Winter, their windows were very fogged up, inside: It was hard to see their
potted green trees inside, then. But the Goulash, Chicken Paprikash, and
Dumplings drew us inside. My, my, did they ever. Oh, I hope they're still
cooking up good things. They fed generations of poor students, like me. Well,
good students, but poor. And even rich students. Forty-plus years ago.
Now, I'm really hungry. ;-)
Merle!
