I would say because many people aren't really alive, simply existing. Buddhist practice constantly asks us to be present and to be fully with what we are doing. In fact we are what we're doing. We are that activity. A Buddhist enterprise makes that a much more conscious part of everday life and business and thus is sufficiently different to sometimes be worth noting.

Zen shouldn't be separated and different from life, so why the Zen baking should look or taste differently?
