No, I am the owner. Zen Forum began in 1999 when there were few if any other Zen lists. My goal was to find a handful of people who really know Zen. People who breathe, perspire, and bleed ZEN. People who are the embodiment of the books that I have read.

I have been fortunate to meet a couple of people like that on this list. There are also many sincere persons whose effort has taught me and everyone else a lot.

Then there are the pseudo-intellectuals. They read the books too, but they missed the heart and soul of it. These folks believe that all Sentient Beings are equal, but some Sentient Beings are more equal than the others.

That is the difference between self-realization that is real and book knowledge that a person uses to repress desires, angers, fears, hatreds, insecurities, etc.

If you reacted powerfully to anything that was posted then the odds are that you were reacting to something powerful that lives inside of you. The ugly side of yourself that you hide and repress.

In response to the messages and the ensuing hijinks, some people resort to a defensive posture and others shine a light on the situation and try to illuminate the others. These illuminating folks are turning the Dharma Wheel. I found one e-mail message that was personally illuminating. A message that I printed out, and which I am reading many times. I hope that everyone found something of value.
