hah, I love such online innovations. Having had the pleasure of participating in Bastardized Western Zen taking form on usenet, we now have Street Fighting Zen [SFZ] ready to take the fallen Dark Zen's place as the most popular online Zen house.
In the spirit of its urban free-thinking roots, I'll be so bold so as to provide Take 1 on what SFZ really is. No doubt there will be plenty of fighting over how wrong it is (how disappointing if otherwise), but let us put it out there to test: === SFZ is in your face: It does not cuddle to your emotions and ingrown views, allowing you to stay safely in your shell whilst being lifted higher in the sky on some great 'spiritual' trip. It seeks downwards, into the deep mud and with no desire to leave it's stinking rotten pile of poo. It's a stake driven right into the heart of the filthy corners of the mind and remaining formly planted in this bonfire of Samsara. It will burn up the heavens if they dare come close enough. Likewise, SFZ is most unsatisfactory practise. Promising nothing but uncertainty, mistakes and misery. The good news is that you carried all of it into this yourself. You will find no security in knowing what is up and down, at SFZ we only know what people imagine is up and down and can point out the error in such - Really, we know even less than the rest. SFZ will not tolerate your personal little drama: Should you want to be discouraged by not having your safety crutches of joy and certainty of being on the right way, of making 'progress' and reaching 'higher', then we may be so indulgent and hellish so as to offer a tiny encouragement: To jump straight into the fire of this doubt and take it on straight on. Shoudl you endure with this training, you may come out of it knowing preciously little and having no ground to rest on. You may find some happiness in all this practise of uncertainty, mistake-making and misery, but SFZ(c) refuses any responsibility for this and will vehemently claim that such fruits are all your own fault. We will take your money if you are foolish enough to give it to us, but refuse to put it to good use. ------------------------ Yahoo!
