> Why all this concern with the Dalai Lama? >>

A) Maybe because I feel like being concerned. Why aren't you concerned? Why
don't you care?

B) Because according to what he tells the International Press (see the
previously posted articles); he is the leader of the 350 Million members of
Buddhism. Therefore if you are one of the 350 Million people represented by
the Lama, you might want to know what his contribution is.

>>>"What am I doing to help the victims of the tsunami?" "What do I do to
help in disasters, major and minor, going on right at my doorstep?">>

If that is your major concern, then feel free to tell everyone about your
efforts to help the Tsunami victims, and what you do around your
neighborhood to help others.

Don't try to smother another's opinion. I never come on this list to shoot
down anyone else's topics, regardless of what I think of them. It starts to
cross the line into personal flaming.

The Dalai Lama is a public figure who is the self-proclaimed leader of not
only Tibet, but all 350 Million Buddhists. Nobody voted for him, but he
collects money on behalf of all Buddhists. How he spends that money (or does
not) is something that should concern anyone who is a Buddhist or pretends
to be one.
