start there when reading posts on this forum :) If so I will answer
with a defeated shrug, "I guess I do it like this". And don't forget
that I do it thinking not noly of the future and the past, I do it
while thinking of all sorts of imagined futures -- even imagined
pasts!

little for me -- but nothing very original -- or effective thus far.
I don't expect they'd work for you, necessarily. So I'll save us the
boredom. When I asked a similar question a few weeks back, I
received two answers that indicated "one step at a time" if that's of
any use to you. You might find Fudo's follow-up more instructive.

thanx Rod, yes i was quite serious, for i am a student of life and am
looking for answers for the strife i have. i know that i am the cause
of my own misery and i am searching for ways to alleviate the pain. i
know the words but practicing and truly understanding is a different
story for me. i so often let my ego rule that i forget about paying
attention to my thoughts. staying in the moment seems like an
impossibility to me at this point so i am looking for advice on
accomplishing this. i guess i would have to ask is what does "one
step at a time" mean?
