RAFLMAO!

I couldn't tell if you were warning the DEAD HORSE something... but not getting
it, I read on and enjoyed your insights.

But -- then I got the WARNING: DEAD HORSE bit -- Funny.

... yeah, sadly, I'll probably kick that horse caracass around a while longer.
Nothin' else doin' out here in the desert.

P.S. speaking of natural movements -- something called the Alexander Technique
(sans profiteering books, instructors, charlatans, etc.) which is great for
reminding one what it feels like to move relaxed and uninhibited like a child.

WARNING: DEAD HORSE

something i remember hearing about autodidacts:

the problem with most autodidacts is the quality of their
    teachers.

as an example: i don't know this for a *fact*, but it's probably safe
to say that most of us taught ourselves to walk. any physical
therapist or body worker will tell you that each of us can further
learn to walk & move more efficiently & with more ease than we even
know. but unless this has been pointed out, & *experienced* through
re-training, it's difficult to conceive how such a "natural" activity
could be improved. & yet it can be, & the experience is quite
surprising.

even accomplished athletes go to professional trainers to improve
their functioning.

how much more difficult must it be to self-teach what the buddha
discovered, however learned we are.

i suggest to those among us who think they can do it alone, ab uovo,
to rethink that & find a teacher. they might indeed be able to
Realize the Way solely through books & e-lists, but who will actually
verify that they have done so correctly? only a Real Teacher In
Person, Right There.
