My failure. But as far as your response goes, I probably read too much philosphy into your post about "your truth is truth". In fact, his two main mantras/advice about 'find a teacher' and 'Zen is not flowers and incense' are complementary. Screw up one, and you'll probably screw up the other. And Fudo (not to talk about someone as though they're not in the room) you, seem to think they are both part of the first step which is where I think Fudo asesses posters on this list. Just people. If I want something from someone, and they ask me to stand on one leg to get it, I'll laugh and stand on one leg. What the fuck do I care? Just words... I got bigger fish to fry. Early on, Al, you flamed me pretty good due to a misunderstanding... I could have told you to go fuck yourself (and come to think of it, never did, so "Go fuck yourself") but you were the moderator -- so I just dodged it. I wasn't ready to be banned not 'cause of words, or foolish pride, I came for a reason. You ever notice (here I go with the metahpors/myth thing...) to get across the river Styx to the immortal world you ALWAYS needed the ferryman. Even the god's had to travel to/from hell via the ferryman. And he wouldn't take you for nothing -- 'less he was really curious to see what would happen. You had to bribe, or trick him. Pleading never ever worked. This mythology is consistent because spiritualism is like that -- you have to bribe/trick/fanagle your way across. If I have business on the otherside, then the ferryman could be tall or short -- I'm just in it for the ride.
