From: "Ian" What *did* happen to Fudo? Now I kinda miss him. :) hehehehe>>

I usually backed up Fudo for the 3-4 years he participated. I did not always
agree with him. Often I did not even read what he posted. But I respected
his position as a Zen Monk.

Unfortunately, at some point last week lines were crossed. In a way, it
seems to fit his persona that we can now refer to Fudo as the monk from
"parts unknown." 90% of the time he was a very thoughtful and nice person.
However, he is gone now. Bringing his name up every other post is a classic
example of living in the past.

I am reminded of the Zatoichi (The Blind Samurai) movie that was on IFC last
Saturday (they have another one every Saturday at 8:00 a.m. and at 2:00
p.m.).

At the end of the movie, after the love of his life (Tane) was killed, and
after several other betrayals by "friends" involving attempts to kill
Zatoichi, someone asks Zatoichi how he feels. He smiles and says "Everything
is alright now." and he begins a traditional dance with some pilgrims who
are walking by playing some music. I thought that was a good example of Zen.
It was a good movie (Zatoichi The Fugitive). So let's focus on NOW.
