Spider, I gather you don't read Usenet news groups. You'd have reached that conclusion sooner. The quality of conversation is usually less than constructive. There are exceptions -- the technical groups and a few others -- but they prove the rule.
One gets the impression that there are folks who have way too much time on their hands, rather like the eccentrics that pepper city government with trivial requests, or even lawsuits, for years. So, what's the Zen content of this message? Not much. I've been lurking here a few weeks, testing the water. I'm a re-beginner in Zen. Tried it off and on for years, starting as a young lad. Lately my interest renewed itself and, voila, it actually makes some sense. Eventually I need to get formal Zen instruction but the nearest group is over two hundred miles away. That'll take some planning. In the meantime, my practice seems to be going fine, much better than any time in the past. I'm looking forward to reading Hardcore Zen. Brad Warner's website is pretty darn good. I trust his book will be the same. --Michael --- [email protected] wrote: > From: "spider" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Moderation > > After last week, I realized that there are people on earth who have > no interest in making any positive progress in their lives, and it > bothers them to see anyone else constructively engaged.
