I am a recent subscriber to this list and I was not surprised at all
to see other subscribers attacking each other. The anonymity of
online life - bulletin boards, e-mail, etc. - just lets people act out
in ways they would NEVER do in face-to-face interactions. That's a
sad fact. You see it on practically any bulletin board you'll visit.
I don't know what the solution is. The easiest one is just to not
participate. Or you can just let the trolls vent but don't respond.
Don't give them a reason to keep participating. I haven't been a
member of this particular group long enough to know if there even are
trolls posting messages. But it's easy to turn the other cheek - you
just don't hit "Reply." !

Tricycle.com used to have a bulletin board, but it was eventually shut
down. Some said that members purposely posted large files to the
bulletin board with the intent of making the servers crash. I was
just beginning to investigate Zen and Buddhism at the time so it was
quite alarming to see Buddhists attacking each other.
