JUST to clarify:
I would like to get people posting what ever they want to, with just some
reliance on actual books or research, scriptures, etc.
If you have an opinion, and it is based on something (even a non-Zen book is
fine); I would like to be able to discuss it by providing some opinion that
I have based on someone else (or maybe the same book/author) to support or
distinguish from your opinion.
Instead, what we have is 10 people post that they believe X; eight others
post that they believe Y. Nobody posts any kind of supporting material.
All of these "feel good" postings may be fulfilling for some folks, but it
is impossible to have any kind of objective intelligent discussion if the
source of all opinions is "I feel that way."
I hope that everyone understands that it is more work to provide some
support for your opinion, but it also will make you think more and the
postings will be a lot more meaningful and worthwhile to read and
participate in.
You only get out of it what you put into it.
