I also went from Tibetan to Zen.
I was doing all these different practices . Ngondro and Buddha Amitabha
sadhana. I just was not seeing the good of it. I kept thinking about all the
things I had yet to do everyday it was so much pressure that I put on myself to

do 108 prostrations and guru yoga and Vajrasattva and Mandala offerings and
Amitabha and Phowa .That is 540 manta recitations a day. While I do think
that for some people they would be good I came to a decision that Zazen was
far
better for me than Tantric practices. It has been better for me in looking
deeply at my motivations and taking an honest approach to mindfulness.
I was just confused with the Tantra. Zen is a better path for me . I needed
a simpler practice .
      John.
